In the end, I bought this elsewhere because Amazon didn't have my size any longer, but wanted to comment on the fit for folks like me who might be having the trouble I was.Regardless of the sizes on the tops, I had a very hard time finding one that fit me, and tried a bunch of sizes before finding one that fit me. I'm 160 pounds, and my bra size is normally a 38 D. I wear a large, sometimes xl in tops. So I went with what seemed like the right size: a 16, a 14, a 14 plus (because busty), even an 18. All were huge on me. The 14 finally kind of fit, but I was worried I might fall out of it as it didn't feel as secure as it could. Finally I ordered a 12, and it felt tight in the band area, but I could tighten it up enough that it felt secure. That's what I ended up keeping. It's fairly low cut, but because of the halter can be tightened enough to be secure. I spent hours in pretty rough surf body surfing, and this top DOES NOT MOVE once you get it right (I was impressed by that!). It also dries quickly and feels good on. Also, and this was important to me and may be to others: the top does not float up immediately in the water but stays close to the body as it should.I'm really happy I got it, but I spent a lot of time ordering and returning before I could get the right size, and I didn't expect to end up with a 12, but it worked. I quite like the top overall as well as a pair of bottoms I got separately (much easier sizing there!) I hope this lasts a long time, because it was a pain to find the right fit, but I am very much enjoying the tankini top now! One star off for how hard it was to find a size that fit.Keep in mind that you are only getting the top. this order does not include bottoms, that is sold separately. Padding is not necessary for all body types.This is a very pretty tankini top but it definitely runs SHORT in the length.Nice top. Had to alter it a bit but not too much so it's pretty much true to size. Companies are under the impression that if you order 2x that all of you is xx large and not just your stomach. Fortunately I know how to use a sewing machine. Major negative for me is that this company automatically puts you on a mailing list to receive their catalogs. If I wanted catalogs I wouldn't have ordered online. I called them and told them they do not have my permission to be on their mailing list. Do not send me catalogs or paper mail of any kind. I despise this practice and hate catalogs. Don't know if I'll order from them again.This is a very pretty pattern and has a good fit. I like that it's longer than some tankini tops, so it doesn't ride up quite as easily. The one problem I have personally is that it's pretty low cut and more 'wide open' at the base -- more than other v-neck tops with tie backs that I have. There is no under wire. Some tankinis are cut so that the seem starts under the breast bone, holding your girls up a little by default. This one doesn't do that as much, so if you have a fuller bust line you may find that you're spilling out a bit. There's not enough control or support. It's my fault for not thinking about that when I bought it (was in a hurry). I wear the equivalent of a full DD, so I really just need an under wire and more fabric at the bottom of the 'v.' My girls are all over the place in this thing without one, and you can only tie the strings so tight to get some help with lifting them. I plan to figure out a way to insert some under wires in it, or have them put in. I'm also going to get a seamstress to sew up a bit of the v-neck. I've already worn it so can't return it. May ass well make the best of it. exposed. If your bust line is smaller, this may be just fine as it's otherwise super cute and comfy to wear.This is very well made with nicer design than the less expensive similar tops. It was on a great sale.First of all, I did order up a size, and I think it’s a perfect fit. I’m in my 40s, not in as great shape as I once was, and this top is fairly forgiving. Fits properly (snug) around the ribcage then loosens as it goes down toward hips, but not at all baggy. I am tall and the length is fine, leaves a small gap above top of bikini bottom. (Incidentally, the mahogany La Blanca bottom color DOES match.) The front strappy part is revealing, can see interior side and underneath breast if someone is close enough to look and is inclined. Cups are lined, not removable which I usually hate but these are well-made so not a problem.Happy with the colour and pattern. Exactly how it looks in the picture. True to size. 36C purchased size 12I purchased the bottoms a size smaller due to low stock and they are snug.
