Product Description

We combine pure Merino Wool with MTF fibers and add Spandex to create a base layer collection that is warm, comfortable and moves easily. The natural Merino Wool yarn is inherently thermal retentive. It traps air in its fibers, keeping insulating warm air close to your body. The natural wicking properties of wool are enhanced with our MTF fibers so moisture is rapidly transported. We designed this collection for a "next to skin" fit, eliminating any excess fabric, to enhance performance.

I am a backpacker that was looking for an alternative to the Patagonia Capilene Thermal Weight 1/4 Zip Hoodie without having to pay around $110 to $120 for it. This one is definitely a high quality product and a cheaper alternative. The only major difference in the two is that this one is a little heavier at 13oz versus the Patagonia's 7.7oz hoodie. I can forego 5.3oz in my backpack to save a few bucks and that's just what I did. The material is high quality and it is built to be a warm hoodie. The only thing you will notice is that it is made to be against your skin tight almost like a compression shirt, but not quite that tight. So, if you don't want that, get one size up from what they recommend. Beyond that, I would totally recommend this as a cheaper alternative.
